Guest Testimonial

“Last week, I had the opportunity to visit New Delhi on an official assignment. During my stay, I was fortunate to be accommodated at the Delhi Parsi Anjuman, located near the historic Delhi Gate. What began as a routine business trip turned into a memorable cultural experience, thanks to the warmth, hospitality, and rich heritage of the Parsi community.

The Delhi Parsi Anjuman is one of the oldest and most respected institutions of the Parsi community in the national capital. Established in the early twentieth century to serve the religious, social, and cultural needs of Parsis living in Delhi, the Anjuman has played a significant role in preserving the traditions and values of Zoroastrianism. Over the years, it has become not only a place of worship but also a centre for community gatherings, cultural activities, and charitable work.

One of the most striking features of the premises is the sacred Fire Temple (Agiary), where the eternal flame is maintained in accordance with Zoroastrian religious traditions. While entry into the sanctum is reserved for practising Zoroastrians, the presence of the temple imparts a unique sense of serenity and spiritual significance to the entire premises. The well-maintained gardens, peaceful surroundings, and elegant architecture create an atmosphere of calm amidst the bustle of Delhi.

What impressed me the most was the exceptional hospitality extended by the staff and members of the Anjuman. Their warmth and courteous nature made me feel completely at home. Another highlight of my stay was the opportunity to savour authentic Parsi cuisine. The meals were delicious, wholesome, and lovingly prepared, reflecting the unique culinary heritage of the Parsi community.

The location of the Delhi Parsi Anjuman, close to the historic Delhi Gate and within easy reach of several landmarks of Old Delhi, further enhanced my stay. The neighbourhood beautifully blends the charm of Delhi’s rich historical past with the conveniences of modern urban life. The peaceful ambience of the Anjuman offered a welcome contrast to the vibrant pace of the city.

My stay at the Delhi Parsi Anjuman was much more than comfortable accommodation during an official visit. It provided me with an opportunity to experience the gracious hospitality, cultural richness, and enduring traditions of one of India’s most respected communities. I returned not only with fond memories of my assignment in New Delhi but also with a deep appreciation for the heritage and values preserved by the Delhi Parsi Anjuman. It is an experience that I shall always cherish.”
