The Parsi community in Delhi is struggling because of dwindling numbers. But how is it really coping with this issue? NDTV visits the only Parsi temple in New Delhi on its 50th Anniversary, to know more.
Increasing numbers of Parsis are (very privately) dealing, along with others in India, with fertility issues. Like others who are increasingly marrying in their mid to late 30s, fertility issues crop up across communities.
Many Delhi Parsis, whether inter or intra married, DO feel a need to procreate and increase numbers. But at private gatherings, I’ve heard several women or couples whisper about their pain and heartache, being unable to conceive. I recently came across this existing thread about that same issue, on this site!: https://delhiparsis.com/2011/05/09/intermarriage-row-must-be-resolved-soon/#comments
Clearly others are concerned. Perhaps more resources about fertility issues should be openly discussed by the community.
